Why our interactions with people so lukewarm?

I am not into surrealist paintings but I was reading about Dali. When Dali first met Picasso, Picasso was already , well, PICASSO. Dali was excited as if he was having audience with the Pope. Picasso went through a big trouble to show him a lot of his canvasses and spent two hours with this new artist, Dali.
It may or may not happen to you when you interact with other artists. More often than not the person you are meeting thinks she has perfected her craft to such a degree that she doesn't need any interaction, dialogue from anyone. Another assumption is you are there to take something rather than give. And you come back without any exchange of thoughts. You too have not contributed anything. You were not given a chance to. But if you could cut through the fat, you will find a deep insecurity there. Your response to this must come from a place of kindness then. For friendship, you can knock some other door tomorrow.
Art and life for that matter, is not a pie, which if you share with more people will get over soon. It is an endless ocean. Your only limitation to take from it is the size of your own vessel. It is abundance and you can come back to it again and again.
